Comment:
Taken on 3 January 2014, this photograph is looking approximately
northeast along the Morecambe Bay shoreline at Bardsea when the tide is
at its maximum height. Conditions such as these are rare and
require the combination of a high tide, a nearby area of deep low
atmospheric pressure, and accompanying strong winds. The rough
water has loosened a great deal of sea weed and this has been blown
ashore by the severe southerly gale. The area of breaking
water seen in the distance is the location for the following
photographs in this series.
